"...On that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights."
"...I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creature of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life."
The two bold words have brought this blog post to my mind. The rain is currently pouring down around me as I sit on a lanai in the backyard. How beautiful it is. As the clouds start to clear up and the sun peaks out, a rainbow comes peeking through. It is such a blessing to be able to be in Hawaii...the land of many rainbows! I am constantly reminded of this promise God gave. What a promise that was!
BUT...there is more! God didn't stop with a promise to not "destroy all life", He gave us one to promise us eternal life with HIM! 1 John 2:25 says "And this is what he PROMISED us - even eternal life." Can we even think of asking more?
I feel so privileged to have the opportunity to come to Hawaii and serve the One who gave these promises first to Noah and his family, and now to all of us. The adolescent years are so pivotal to the shaping of one's life. This is the time a guy or girl will begin to lay foundations on who they are going to become as they grow older. How important it is for them to know about these promises and the love and care that comes with it. How great of a love God has for us to give up His son to give us eternal life.
Please be praying for the youth around the world...they need positives in this time of life.
Great to hear how God is revealing His truth to you in the beauty around you. Truly all of creation reveals the glory of God. He is a God who keeps His promises every day!
